Karen Bushman

Director of Religious Education

Karen Bushman became the Director of Religious Formation at St. Paul Parish in August 2005. She earned a degree in Theology from Sacred Heart in 1999. For the past six years, she has been the Director of Religious Education at St. Veronica (and still is). During that time Karen collaborated with St. Paul Parish on adult formation and other activities. Now she will be working for both parishes.

Karen has been married to a great guy, Tom for 27 years and they are the proud parents of 3: Jeremy, age 25; Kathleen, age 22; and Marty, age 17. Their family lives in Greendale and are members of St. Alphonsus parish. Tom is a Greendale Post Office letter carrier with 30 years of experience.

Karen's parish responsibilities are varied and include: Baptismal Preparation, Elementary Religious Formation (K5 – grade 6), First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Children, Liturgy of the Word with Children, and Adult Confirmation. She will be working with the Christian Formation Committee to try and develop opportunities for adult faith formation, a small parish resource library for children, and other projects.

Karen wishes to encourage all parish members to consider participating in Religious Formation activities. If you are parents of children or youth attending a public school, please have them attend elementary or youth Religious Formation classes. If you are an adult would like to complete your sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation or First Eucharist) contact Karen's office, 481-0777. Liturgy of the Word for Children could use more volunteers. Additional members are always welcome on the Christian Formation committee to promote lifelong faith formation. Perhaps you are interested in Bible study, speakers, or the Lenten series. Wherever your interest lies, God is calling you to become part of His mission.
